Using Seventh Chords For Harmonic Progression Pt.3

In part three, Dubspot’s Max Wild shows you how to construct and apply dominant seventh (Dom7) chord in a musical context.

Compared to the major and minor seventh chords, the Dom7 chord has a stronger sound. Named after the dominant, or 5th note of a scale, it is often used in blues, soul and funk music. Max plays a progression consisting of the C7 and F7 chords.
