Spectrasonics announced version 1.3 for Omnisphere and Trilian, which feature new real time performance sync features as well as new sound patches.
In version 1.3, Spectrasonics takes their innovative Groove Lock technology and applies it to the STEAM engine`s powerful, multi-stage envelopes. This allows all envelopes in Omnisphere and Trilian to be controlled via external sources. By simply dragging and dropping a standard MIDI file from Stylus RMX to either instrument, you can quickly and easily create complex rhythmic envelopes with full synchronization between all three instruments.
“We are excited to be able to continue the development of these powerful synths and offer new features and sounds to our users which really take these instruments to a whole new level,” notes Eric Persing, Founder of Spectrasonics. “We’ve always thought that electronic music should be fun and these new performance features are really a blast to play, jam and build up ideas quickly. We can’t wait to see how our customers use these new features in creative ways.”
As with previous updates, Spectrasonics` top rated sound design team has also included a number of new patches. However, the 1.3 update includes an added twist in the form of VIP updates. Users who own both Omnisphere and Trilian will be able to take advantage of special VIP library patches which combines sounds from both instruments` core libraries with Omnisphere`s advanced synthesis engine to create new and powerful sounds.
For Trilian users, Spectrasonics has added a new “Sustain-2” mode which allows for a more realistic rock style of bass playing, which can also be used in Omnisphere. The sound designers also created new multis which modify electric and acoustic bass sounds to cut through dense rock and pop mixes. Also, at user request, two new features are added to the browser: “Search Lock” and “Search Clear” which improve overall workflow.
In addition to the new features and sounds, Spectrasonics will be making available updated reference manuals as well as tutorial videos demonstrating how to apply the v1.3 features. Omni Live, the Omnisphere control app for the iPhone will also support Windows users from 1.3.
The Omnisphere and Trilian version 1.3 updates will be released on April 20th as free downloads for all registered users.
